  3.     Received source code from David Mark, David was the original Author
  4. of SFE-mail and deserves credit as such:

  6.     David Mark, a SPITFIRE SysOp, wanted to provide his callers with
  7. InterNet E-Mail.  Unable to find a way of doing this to his likings,
  8. SFE-mail was born!
  9.  
  10.     Well, that was back in 1994.  While David is still a SysOp he no
  11. longer runs SPITFIRE, he runs Major BBS.  The name is CyberLink and the
  12. number is (606) 342-8400, give it a call sometime.

  14.     I spent the following weeks getting familiar with the code.

  19.     Jay Dickinson, SysOp of The Port Brew BBS, provided me with messages
  20. that he said contained wrong addresses.  At first look I couldn't find
  21. anything wrong with the addresses, what I did find was that the position
  22. of the Date / Time field was wrong.  The code was altered to correct the
  23. grunged date and a new copy of SFE-mail was sent to Jay.

  28.     Received netmail from Jay stating that the addresses were still
  29. wrong.  After beating head against wall a few times and looking at
  30. sample messages till I knew every byte of them I found the problem.
  31. While the address field was correct the 'From Net' and 'To Net' were
  32. wrong.

  34.     In looking at messages created by SFE-mail here I found that the
  35. 'From Net' and 'To Net' were correct.  Baffled at this point I started
  36. picking the code a part, what I found was an INTEGER division error.

  38.     For those that were unable to make use of SFE-mail due to bogus
  39. addresses on outbound mail,.. as Della Moore would say 'I think you've
  40. just been hit with that "arithmetic bug":(!!'

  45.     Added a routine to SFE-mail to allow outbound messages from SysOp to
  46. be converted to SysOps real name,.. be sure to update your SFEMAIL.CFG
  47. to reflect this change.

  49.     Started work on SFEMBULL,.. added support for both SF v3.51+ @
  50. display codes and SF v3.5- CTRL character codes.  You'll have to update
  51. your SFEMBULL.CFG to reflect this change.

  56.     Received netmail from Jay Dickinson stating the changes I had made
  57. worked,.. at this point we feel SFE-mail v2.0 is ready for release,..
  58. all that is left is to update the documentation.
